Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is a beautiful metal and here is how you can look after it :)
Wear it often xo
Believe it or not wearing your sterling silver regularly helps prevent tarnish. Your skins natural oils can keep it looking bright.
Try to avoid chemicals like chlorine, perfumes and lotions - but if it is a piece that you can’t bear to take off exposure to these will not damage it permanently but can speed up tarnishing.
When you’re not wearing your pieces it’s always good to keep them in a cool, dry place.
Clean gently :)
If you jewellery begins to dull and you prefer the polished look you can use a silver polish cloth or paste. If you live near the beach rubbing your silver in the sand can give it a lovely finish and make it bright again.
Tarnishing is a natural process and not a fault - it’s simple silver reacting with the air. The good news is it’s easy to restore your jewellery’s shine with a little care.
Also if you are ever visiting me and have your piece with you I am so happy to give it a polish on the wheel 🤍

Copper & Brass
The inherent nature of copper and brass is that it tarnishes and develops a natural patina.
Embrace the Patina :)
A gentle patina can add character to copper & brass. It is evidence of a well worn & loved piece. But if that is not your cup of tea here some tips!
Keep it dry.
Moisture expedites the tarnishing process. You can remove your pieces before showering, swimming or washing up. As with silver your body’s natural oils can either speed up the tarnish or keep your pieces looking bright - it all depends on hormones and acidity.
Gentle cleaning.
Use a soft cloth to wipe away fingerprints & oils after wearing. For a deeper clean a little lemon juice & salt can bring the brightness back too. Avoid contact with harsh chemicals - they are not good for copper & brass or anything else for that matter!!
